A picture hangs in the Hall of Honor on the main floor of the Commerce and Finance Building. It's a picture of a man who came from humble beginnings to become a giant in the Detroit community. The man is of Samuel Logan Jr., and it serves as an inspiration for some – a sign that they can achieve anything.
Subway opening in Loft
Are you ready for Subway? If not, get ready because UDM has one, and it will be opening this week in the Loft. Construction of the Subway outlet started at the beginning of break and was recently finished, said Gary Lichtman, university spokesman.

Freshman to be sentenced in February
ANN ARBOR—Detroit Mercy basketball guard P.J. Boutte pled guilty Wednesday, Dec. 21, to possessing a stun gun and being a minor in possession of alcohol. The two counts stem from an Oct. 9 arrest in Ann Arbor. Standing before Judge Archie Brown, Boutte, 20, waived his right to a trial and will be sentenced Wednesday, Feb.
