Women's team gears up for a long Horizon League tournament run

This is right where the UDM women's basketball team expected to be. Even after the pre-season rankings said they would finish eighth in the conference, even after injuries cut their roster to eight and even after they started the season 2-9, the Titans know they have what it takes to win the Horizon League championship. In two years at UDM, tennis player Pjotrs Necajevs has dominated Horizon League competition and made a name for himself beyond the conference by knocking off some Big Ten competitors, winning numerous honors and even earning a mention in Sports Illustrated. (0) comments

By the time we return from spring break, there might be two new banners hanging in the rafters of Calihan Hall. They might say "2010 Horizon League Women's Basketball Champions" and "2010 Horizon League Men's Basketball Champions" and they might signify a picture-perfect ending to two starkly different, but equally remarkable seasons.
