"I played soccer when I was younger so I liked Mia Hamm because she was good, she was a mother and she worked hard. … I could never see myself without playing a sport. I love everything about sports. … Guys' sports are a lot more popular. ... It's just our culture."

"Growing up I looked to male athletes, because growing up basketball female athletes weren't as popular. … Being a Division I athlete comes with a lot of responsibilities. It gives you skills that you can work with your whole life. … You're always going to have teams that are more popular, but Title IX has helped a lot. Without it, my team wouldn't even be here."

"I think it's a good day for women in general. It's good for the little girls to be able to look up to someone, and it's a good day for us to be role models…. I've always looked up to Mia Hamm and the other players on the women's national team…Sports have helped me get out a lot of energy as well as learn time management as I've grown older."

"Sports gave me an opportunity to come to a university and play and get a great education. … What needs to change is that people need to start talking about how fun it is to be women and play a sport. I don't think people really realize that."
