The Big Shot
It takes a tough-minded and well-skilled basketball player to be able to take and make the game-winning shot.
It's not just about shooting the ball, it's about getting the ball to the most skilled and trustworthy player on your team so he or she can have a chance to make the basket and win the game.
Not everyone has the guts to take the shot - or the teammates who trust him enough to give him the ball to take the shot.
Well, in my case, my teammates had enough trust in me to allow me to take a couple of potential game-winners recently. Unfortunately, they didn't go our way.
But my teammates still haven't given up hope in me - and it's not just me. We all have faith in each other; it doesn't matter who takes the shot on our team because we all have a chance of making it.
Missing the game-winner is very tough, but you have to remember to keep your head up and think positively about the situation. Maybe you will get another chance to make that shot if it comes again, and you can work on your game so you will be better prepared to make it the second time around.
Your success with the game-winning shot depends partly on where you are taking it.
It requires a lot of concentration - and luck - to make the shot. When you take it, you never know what's going to happen. Anything can happen on the court. You might just get lucky and make it, if the Basketball Gods are smiling on you.
And if you don't make it? The most important thing to do when you miss a game-winning shot is to keep your head up and try not to get down on your self.
A lot of people want to take the game-winning shot, but don't want to deal with missing it. They don't want to risk missing and having everyone get on them.
Making a game-winner is a great experience because everyone will be on your side no matter how badly you played in the game.
