Fencing team wins
at Northwestern

The UDM men's and women's fencing team competed in the Northwestern University Duals in Evanston, Ill, over the weekend, with the women leaving with a pair of victories, while the men only managed to come away with one.
The women dropped their first three matches before they defeated Cleveland State 12-3 on Saturday.
They followed it up with another victory on Sunday over Lawrence by a score of 13-8.
On Sunday, the men followed the women's victory over Cleveland State with one of their own, defeating them 16-9.

Necajevs, Latosinsky
knock off State pair

Senior Pjotrs Necajevs and freshman Alex Latosinsky got the UDM men's tennis team off to a fast start against Michigan State on Saturday before the Titans eventually fell 6-1.
The Titans' top doubles team defeated MSU's doubles team 6-1, 6-1. Unfortunately, it was the only victory the team would have in the competition.

Titan runners take
individual honors

The Titan women finished with four second-place finishes and 11 in the top five in the Grand Valley State Open on Friday night.
Susan Kalkstein was a runner-up in both the long jump and triple jump, while Alexandria Vintevoghel and Sequoyia Calhoun finished second in the 3000m run and 200m dash respectively.
Jennifer DeFauw ran the fifth-fastest time in school history in the 800m with a time of 2:19.90, and the team of DeFauw, Calhoun, Tressanique Hampton and Megan Miller ran the 4x400m relay in the third-best time in school history, finishing in 3:58:58.

Simon named HL Player of the Week
Sophomore Chase Simon was named the Horizon League Player of the Week for his efforts in the Titans' past two games.
In those games, Simon averaged 25 points and 7.5 rebounds as Detroit defeated Loyola and UIC.
The award was his second in three weeks.
